What color should I paint my bedroom?

I want to paint my bedroom but I'm leaving next year for college so it has to be something my younger sister can move into and use. So I need it to be nice for me but okay for everyone else. I have a blue carpet which I can't change but I might just ignore that fact and paint however I'd like, I just need some color suggestions.

2. I do not know what shade of blue the carpet is, but i think a cream, dark or light, would look good. The Ralph Lauren suede collections are very nice, but a bit pricey.
