Bedroom Talk

Can you paint a bedroom during the cold winter. I live in Ohio where it snows?

I want to paint my bedroom. It is about 17 degrees outside, but about 78 in the house. I really need this room painted ASAP, so any answers can really help. Thank You so much for your time.

  1. of course you can. Only the inside temperature matters.
  2. you should be able to as long as your house insulated well and you keep the inside temp up.
  3. We have no probelm applying latex paint in the winter. Been doing it for years.
  4. the outside temp doesn't count--as long as your temp in the house is warm--no worry. I'm from Ohio too, but moved to Florida--sorry :D
  5. i think as long as it isn't raining or snowing on the day before, the day of and the day after, you should be fine. so you need a 3 day window.
  6. no problem with painting--paint away take a little longer to dry have to deal with paint smell with windows closed so crack them open some
  7. Yes you can paint as long as it is 78 in the house
  8. i did it last week it turned out ok just takes longer to dry. u need lots of ventelation or a fan running at the time of ur painting. the fumes get bad. if not orderless. what color just curious?
  9. So long as it isn't snowing in the bedroom and you use latex paint. Oil based paint would stink you out of the house and probably wouldn't be good for you.
